Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
The firm has been in Tulsa since 1996. Our attorneys have more than 60 years of combined experience. We are unique in that we not only have a wide variety of experience in estate planning and estate administration, but also have depth of experience handling estate-related taxes and litigating in court for contested Wills, Trusts and Estates.
What is your primary product or service?
Our attorneys represent clients and educate the public on issues regarding their estates: wills, trusts, probate, estate administration, end of life decisions, prenuptial agreement results, wealth transfer, charitable gifts and gift taxes, business succession , estate-related tax planning and filings, as well as in disputing and defending estate matters.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Our founder had an early career as a tax attorney for the IRS. Discovering ways people could plan ahead to protect their assets and save time and trouble for their loved ones became a passion. She developed remedies in case someone unexpectedly died or became disabled, and built her law practice around her rich experience in this focus on estate administration, probate, estate taxation and dispute resolution.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are a boutique law firm whose practice is limited to matters of probate and administration of estates; Settlement and litigation of estate disputes, or adverse death, gift, and generation-skipping tax decisions based on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, prenuptial and other agreements; end-of-life decisions; estate tax filing and compliance; Business succession; Preparation and defense of fiduciary income tax returns and death, gift, and generation-skipping tax returns. There are many firms that offer estate planning and administration, but very few that offer the necessary experience to represent our clients in court, whether as defendants or plaintiffs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our primary offices are located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but we have managed difficult, problem estates nationwide. We do public speaking nationally as well.
